Last night's bible highlights: David was wrong to greive for his son!
by purrpurr inlast night's bible highlights was really eyebrow raising!
the brother pointed out at lenght about how david had wept when his son absalom was killed.
but that because absalom was killed while opposing jehovah that means that david was wrong and weak to greive for him.. it was applied to today by saying that if our children are df'd when they die then we should not grieve for them either!.

But when someone's relative from bethel passes away, bethel will have at least four to six halls plumbed in to the funeral talk. But hey, we shouldn't make a big deal about one's death. I guess bethel's favorites really lack faith in god especially when bethel will print out a brochure on one of their beloved governing body members after they take a dirt nap. Sick, sick, sick, people! -

There is no doubt in my mind they will get their money back based on gullible people and the org's lies. We had a young missionary couple from Liberia tell us that the society pays out over thirty-five hundred dollars US per month for hydro. Most of the time when they need their washer or air conditioners on they use their generator. How can that be possible if you are using a generator most of the time? They said their government is corrupt. Now I realise it's the society that is corrupt getting what ever they can where ever they can. If your using a generator most of the time, there is no way it cost that much for hydro. But the people will believe it. -

Looking for ideas.
by Driving Force ini received an email from one of the elder in the local congregation.
i am not dfed so there is not a problem there, i am just an aggressive fader.. one of the last things i said to this elder before i stopped all activities was that i do not agree with the borg taking all the assets from the congregations.. here is what the elder said in the email:.
"i recently saw something while looking through the jw broadcasting for the month of may and i though about you.

Tell him you can no longer afford to keeping up with the organization. What's left in your bank account is either you providing for your family or the org but you can't do both. This feeling of never being good enough for them or doing enough has now affected other areas of your life such as your family. You now don't seem you can do enough for them either. You have been forced to make a decision!
Good luck.

A Tug on the Leash (The Authority Which the GB Wields Over the R&F)
by Oubliette inrecently, several comments have been made in various threads in reference to some of the recent changes to a few of the rules by which jehovah's witnesses must live their lives in unquestioning compliance.
the assertion has been made that these rules are a "relaxing" of previous restrictions.
the suggestion has been made that this somehow indicates a corresponding relaxing or loosening or lessening of the authority which the governing body (gb) holds over the rank and file (r&f) members of the religion.

And only when that dog no longer needs that prong collar, he is then guided by his own free will wanting to please his master every chance he gets. How sad on top of the collar restraint the publisher puts up with, they are then rewarded with the org's propaganda litertrash.
Excellent opening post! Love reading your comments Oubliette:)

So I decided to do it.
by WasOnceBlind inok, so i went ahead and got a tattoo.
well more than a tattoo, it is a half sleeve.
my parents haven't seen it, thanks to the chilly weather i've been wearing a sweater around them.

He will tell you that in the scriptures it reads that god detests tatoos. And that he has not changed. You can say if that's the case then god also detested swine and that that was the only animal out of all the unclean animals on earth you weren't even allowed to touch it. Yet, today we eat swine and touch it. -

An excellent (and funny) example of Cognitive Bias
by Slave4_38y ini saw this and immediately thought about how this relates to us.
once you've learned how to ride the ttatt-bicycle it's almost impossible to ride the "truth"-bicycle again.

That was well done! He looks like the same guy that was on one of these posts not long ago. Where he filmed himself going into a hall on memorial night. -

Strange but Sad!
by John Aquila ini had a couple of elders come visit me about an hour ago.
they wanted to inform me that a brother who was well known throughout the circuit had died.
(i actually knew about it but did not go to the funeral) he was about to hit 90 years old, missed it by a few weeks.

Well put, John. We have friends who left this disgusting filthy snake pit and they know their time is coming to be disfellowshipped. What boiled my ass was someone called his mother who is in a nursing home and is ninety years old. She is losing her memory yet some jackass had to call her and tell her that her son is an apostate. She was so upset she called her sixty-two year old son all upset and asked why would they do this to her. They did not leave their names, of course.
There is no excuse for elderly abuse let alone apostate abuse!!

He doesn't tell anyone about a girl he went out with and then broke up with because he felt it wouldn't be fair with him up in heaven (because he thinks he's anointed and anointed himself) and the poor girl left down here on earth all alone. I wonder what he thinks living with the seven anointed dwarfs and their wives. He's definitely not on the same train of thought as the other six stooges when it comes to marriage. No doubt the same thing when it comes to their falsehood doctrines. -

New video telling the R&F to be generous
by Splash inbro sanderson has a 7 minute video up on their streaming website called "be willing to open your hand".. in it he tells us not to be "tight fisted" or "stingy" and later "regardless of how much we have or how little we have, we'll find something within our power to be able to do".
we have the responsibility to imitate jehovah's generosity.. there's a bit about giving to one another when we see the need, which is nice, then he drops in how 20 years ago the canada branch committee asked the bethel family for donations to the disaster relief fund, and promptly raised over $10,000.
i think that's pretty good going for those under a vow of poverty.. "the generous person will prosper" he says, then illustrates this using a made up story.

Because I know your reading this, Watchtower, here's a great idea for your kool aid workers and their families. Send a letter out to all your "volunteer" employee's families stating if they donate large amounts ($) in care of their kids that are in bethel, you will give consideration to their labels. Watch and see their parents write cheques out in large sums of money with their kids names at the bottom of the cheques. Before you know it, they also will be head of toiletries department. -

Pretty sad BS. The brothers were kind to drop groceries off at his door. Ummm, when your in bethel, your food is free. No doubt someone went to the kitchen and rounded him off some FREE food and left it at his door without knocking to see how he is doing. What's that scripture? Don't let your right hand know what the lefty is doing. Why didn't Mark also add that the bethel family was sooooo generous that they even did his laundry and house cleaning for him which is also FREE!
Before Georgetown was built, a brother who was at the bethel farm had told us that when the bethel was in Toronto, the zone overseer had told them to do something with the large amount of money that they were sitting on so they built Georgetown bethel. He said they had tons and tons of donations flowing in at that time. Then the bethel farm was also donated by Jack Perry who was the previous owner. The deal was he was to die there so the brothers looked after him until he had passed away. Approximately four hundred and ninety-five acres went for almost three million dollars. Not bad for back then. Years later they sold the farm to a guy who owns one of the home hardware stores in Toronto.
I don't believe the bethelites donated ten thousand dollars but definitely their families who are not bethelites did or those who drop cheques off in the bethel's contribution boxes when they come to visit or go on tours.
I don't ever recall Yeshua asking for money to build buildings either. Lurkers! WAKE UP!!!!!
